Outstanding food and focus on details! A few of the reviews with this page, made myself a bit anxious once we gathered several friends for a special birthday at the eating place. We had been two vegans and requested specific attention to the menus. Richard Rivalee dida outstanding evening with wonderful food items within an exceptional atmosphere. Really worth a vist for that other dressing up event.

The restaurant came strongly suggested and I was advised to pre order the lamb and the duck. We booked for 11. The communications with the reserving were excellent. Eventually I received a contact from Richard himself apologising that because of the P/h no like availableand he recommended an off menus prawn dish. The placing of the cafe is terrific, nice decoration and the meals selection excellent. Then your foods cane. Wow. We had been blown away. Both preordered dishes were large and incredible in flavor, as were another choices. We shall return for certain.

Richard Rivalee may be the proprietor of this special Penang Nyonya restaurant that is situated in the bustling Pulau Tikus section of Penang island (he'll come around to state hi and talk with his customers). The restaurant was housed in a little standalone bungalowwhich was appropriately decorated with copious quantity of Peranakan furniture along with other artifacts. Our celebration of 7 ordered the next preferred dishes:- Cincalok pork, Ju Hu Char, asam pedas seafood, Otak otak, steamed egg with minced pork, brinjal with shrimp sambal, spinach with garlic and lovely pork belly. We found all of the meals to be above typical in flavor and flavour. The standout meals had been the otak otak and cincalok pork, the latter using its punchy fermented little shrimp sambal accompaniment. The only real probable exception however has been the asam pedas seafood that was slightly plain.

The first thing which will entice you in this restaurant alone is its beautiful setup, that was nicely completed in a traditional-style setup (i.electronic. to reflect its "peranakan" roots). Now, to the meals... and they didn't disappoint as well. Regardless of the broad varietyof nyonya dishes on its menu, there is also set meal options aswell (esp. for lunch time), comprising of rice-based meals such as for example turmeric rice, nasi ulam, etc. with poultry/pork. This restaurant is situated at a concealed alley off Bangkok Lane (i.e. directly next to the well-known "mee goreng" restaurant). The area also serves good English breakfast each morning aswell... via its sister eating place Breakfast at the Barn (i.electronic. to be reviewed individually).
