Outstanding food and focus on details! A few of the reviews with this page, made myself a bit anxious once we gathered several friends for a special birthday at the eating place. We had been two vegans and requested specific attention to the menus. Richard Rivalee dida outstanding evening with wonderful food items within an exceptional atmosphere. Really worth a vist for that other dressing up event.

The restaurant came strongly suggested and I was advised to pre order the lamb and the duck. We booked for 11. The communications with the reserving were excellent. Eventually I received a contact from Richard himself apologising that because of the P/h no like availableand he recommended an off menus prawn dish. The placing of the cafe is terrific, nice decoration and the meals selection excellent. Then your foods cane. Wow. We had been blown away. Both preordered dishes were large and incredible in flavor, as were another choices. We shall return for certain.

Richard Rivalee may be the proprietor of this special Penang Nyonya restaurant that is situated in the bustling Pulau Tikus section of Penang island (he'll come around to state hi and talk with his customers). The restaurant was housed in a little standalone bungalowwhich was appropriately decorated with copious quantity of Peranakan furniture along with other artifacts. Our celebration of 7 ordered the next preferred dishes:- Cincalok pork, Ju Hu Char, asam pedas seafood, Otak otak, steamed egg with minced pork, brinjal with shrimp sambal, spinach with garlic and lovely pork belly. We found all of the meals to be above typical in flavor and flavour. The standout meals had been the otak otak and cincalok pork, the latter using its punchy fermented little shrimp sambal accompaniment. The only real probable exception however has been the asam pedas seafood that was slightly plain.

The first thing which will entice you in this restaurant alone is its beautiful setup, that was nicely completed in a traditional-style setup (i.electronic. to reflect its "peranakan" roots). Now, to the meals... and they didn't disappoint as well. Regardless of the broad varietyof nyonya dishes on its menu, there is also set meal options aswell (esp. for lunch time), comprising of rice-based meals such as for example turmeric rice, nasi ulam, etc. with poultry/pork. This restaurant is situated at a concealed alley off Bangkok Lane (i.e. directly next to the well-known "mee goreng" restaurant). The area also serves good English breakfast each morning aswell... via its sister eating place Breakfast at the Barn (i.electronic. to be reviewed individually).

Just what a perfect combination! Beautiful heritage ambiance, pleasant staff, & most importantly ... Delicious Food!!! Thank you to get the beautiful hospitality, we really liked ourselves. The laundry are served quickly and it's really all perfectly presented. The 'nasi ulam' is amazing! It is a must-possess! Yes,you listen to it right! It is a must-have! I'm a Penangite who functions in Kuala Lumpur so when a Penangnite, increasing up and eating delicious meals daily and it's due to that, we Penangnite are usually recognized to have very solid taste buds! It was my first-time to test in this eating place and I was included with my schoolmates, where haven't met for a long time! We're so happy that people chose this cafe! We finished up discovering a concealed gem! We're privileged to access understand Mr. Richard Rivalee who distributed to us his life trip and informed us about how exactly he took treatment of his guests, employees, and the restaurant. Mr. Richard would thoroughly handpick the elements for the laundry every day time, and make certain the food reaches the tip-top regular before its offered to all or any the guests. We really enjoyed the meals and had an enjoyable experience! We shall definitely be again, with this own family, buddies, and our top customers. Just what a wonderful place that is!

We were really looking towards dining as of this restaurant once we didn't manage to get yourself a table when we visited Penang last yr for our holiday. This time around round I were able to book a table. The deco as of this restaurant is beautiful, butthe food was average. You can find better nyonya dining places in Penang. The restaurant really was busy, so occupied that the staff simply cannot cope and didn't bother very much with us. We'd to call them often. I had to inquire further 4 times to obtain us ice drinking water for the youngsters. First couple of instances they didn't provide the beverages, third time they first got it wrong, fourth period they brought the drinking water finally. They almost smudged our rice orders. We ordered bubur cha cha for dessert, plus they never came following a long wait, thus we cancelled them, paid and remaining. They didn't also apologise. Bubur cha cha takes time to prepare and it's usually still left in a pot, just how long will it try scoop some out into some bowls? We showed our Penang close friends photos of the meals and where we ate, plus they said locals don't eat there! Don't bother coming, move elsewhere for much better Nyonya food, and much better service.

That is definitely the highlight of my Penang trip, the peranakan was so delicious. We purchased the salted veggie duck soup lemon grass poultry, assam fish, veggies and nasi ulam. The lemon grass drink can be refreshing. The price can be reasonable, recommended
