Almost all their food are fine, but as the restaurant is small and the queue regarding food are very prolonged. The Chendol will need to endure and queue outside.

My hubby said that no visit to Penang is complete without taking in Assam Laksa & Chendol from Joo Hooi. We emerged right here multiple times & are usually glad that the area is cleaner today. I remembered our 1st visit whenever we saw inch heavy dust layeron the enthusiasts. But now, that is cleaned up. Tables remain tightly squeezed but many will simply eat & go offering it an easy turnover. Staff service can be extremely fast. The mackerel seafood in the laksa sensed lesser this time around but it continues to be tasty. Chendol appears to have improved because the last time, with an increase of gula. We also purchased the loh bak that is good too. Will come back.

Attempted it and found this to function as worst Asam Laksa I've ever tasted. Only discovered that the initial stall has transferred after. 🤦‍♂️

For me personally, this is my favourite laksa in my own 3 weeks in Malaysia. Very fragrant, nice solid noodles, plenty of herbs. Marginally more costly than other laksas I've had at 6MYR, but barely a deal breaker. Very humid within though!
