Almost all their food are fine, but as the restaurant is small and the queue regarding food are very prolonged. The Chendol will need to endure and queue outside.

My hubby said that no visit to Penang is complete without taking in Assam Laksa & Chendol from Joo Hooi. We emerged right here multiple times & are usually glad that the area is cleaner today. I remembered our 1st visit whenever we saw inch heavy dust layeron the enthusiasts. But now, that is cleaned up. Tables remain tightly squeezed but many will simply eat & go offering it an easy turnover. Staff service can be extremely fast. The mackerel seafood in the laksa sensed lesser this time around but it continues to be tasty. Chendol appears to have improved because the last time, with an increase of gula. We also purchased the loh bak that is good too. Will come back.

Attempted it and found this to function as worst Asam Laksa I've ever tasted. Only discovered that the initial stall has transferred after. 🤦‍♂️

For me personally, this is my favourite laksa in my own 3 weeks in Malaysia. Very fragrant, nice solid noodles, plenty of herbs. Marginally more costly than other laksas I've had at 6MYR, but barely a deal breaker. Very humid within though!

This is a one cease eating center! But you have to initial find a spot to sit. After that ordering is simple. You may purchase cendol from the lane outdoors and they will assist. In Joo Hooi, there are some stalls offering nearby Penangfood. There’s laksa, rojak, popiah, char kuey teow among others. Tasty and good.

I would recommend here the chee chong fun (good part and good flavor). Fried items on sticks and asam fruit juice are also good. I discovered the area in 2019 but We only went onetime because it is fairly definately not where I rest under thatheat and you may find chee chong enjoyable closer which is as effective as there The atmosphere was average since it was too crowded but I went there at the week end. You talk about simple tables and stools inside with locals, few spot to move, you are feeling cramped but there is several queue. Tables are small. Cleanliness appeared to be oki but We didn’t try the toilets There were many selections in the stalls to consume. The meals quantity was good The service is quite fast even if you can find more and more people at the week end, they assist you to as very much as they are able to even in this type of context but they provide you with the biggest portion without requesting if you want the tiny or the big portion Affordability was good. AM I GOING TO go back? Maybe since it is significantly from the area I sleep

This cafe is well-known for its Chendol (a sweet shaved iced coconut milk dessert with green stringed jellos). Oh wait around! The Chendol will be from the make shift cart located right next to the cafe. Visible coz of its lengthy Q. Usually are not owns the cafe? You’llbe greeted with natural uniformed servers cleansing the tables to usher in patrons the cafe itself. They’ll paddle the Chendol, Penang Laksa (Penang’s very famous road food manufactured from tamarind and prawn paste broth, with heavy vermicelli, a combo of lovely, sour n spicy) and Oyster on Fried Eggs. Order all 3 if its the only real pit end you have in Penang to use its street foods. None of the 3 recommended meals by the servers produced the tag. But of coz, for comfort wise, and when you don’t desire to hunt around for an ideal Chendol, Laksa and Oyster Egg. Edible for the most part (but I took just 2 mouthful of Laksa, yes its poor... and the broth will be cold). The only savior for the 3 stars? This small stall in Joo Hooi Cafe that states Curry Mee. Why didn’t anyone paddle the meals of a vintage aunty? I purchased and had been shocked to end up being greeted by a plate of thin vermicelli , tofu, squids, meats balls covered in vibrant broth. Wait one minute! I believed curry is red-orangy shaded?!!! Oh wait around... there’s a spoonful of reddish Belacan (spicy prawn chilly like paste)... combine it in and lo and behold... Penang Curry Mee... it includes a distinct rustic flavor, nothing overpowering, something you won’t possess in Malaysia (except in Johor, that is 900km down south)... and That women and gentleman may be the savior for Joo Hooi Cafe.

Returned twice for the kueh tiaw. The Penang Laksa can be so-so and you could order the well-known Penang Chendol thru them that is a plus concerning Q-up at the chendol location is impossibly long.

Whenever we come in Penang, we make an effort to have lunch right here for a few amazing local Penang delights. We will have assam laksa, char kway teow, cendol and pie tie.
