Was intrigued by this restaurant - saw the dishes on an advert and food looked more like art than food. just on presentation of food alone, I would give it a 4.5. However, taste wise, some dishes were a bit of a miss and definitely didn't justify the price. Restaurant is quite creative not only in the food presentation but also the way they name their dishes and present it on the menu.We ordered:1. Soon Hock wallet - fish was very bland. One of the more disappointing dishes of the day, bearing in mind its price as well.2. Pokemon's prawns - this was their version of wasabi prawns. Also a disappointment. No 'kick' at all - just a big dollop of green coloured mayonnaise.3. Ruyi's sushi - one of the star dishes!! very tasty and creative. Would order it again if we come back.4. Smoked little Duck Cones: this was also good. Tiny duck pieces with mixture of corn, etc.5. Flight of fantasy - fried dish, with layers of duck, sweet potato and coleslaw 6. Humpty Dumpty - not sure how the name came about but really it is just spinach with 3 different types of eggs. This is a dish that you can find in most chinese restaurant. Spinach not cooked together with the sauce and in my opinion, not so tasty as spinach leaves didn't get all the taste.7. Green tea rice - this was very tasty.oh yea, none of us really liked the 'free' appetizers - tasted very artificial

Admittedly, Ruyi & Lyn is not the cheapest restaurant around. But for those looking for a new culinary experience and memories that will be cherished for a long time, then you don’t need to look any further. The restaurant presents more than just Instagram-worthy dishes. Each of them is a delectable play of Asian flavors.

The perfect setting for birthdays and special occasions, Ruyi & Lyn’s modern twist on fusion fare is a quick favourite for the Gen-Y crowd looking to impress their friends. It’s classy, the food lives up to the high standards that is carried across the Oriental Restaurant Group and of course, it’s got the Instagram factor.  Guests are treated to pickled radish and tomatoes for starters.

Halal dimsum... Served very beautifully but unfortunately they have really limited choices. Crab curry rice is a fusion of Chinese and Thai I believe, is one of the must order! Prawn and eggplant sushi is very refreshing. Prawn mango roll cream is very good - lightly crisp outside, balanced mayo and prawns inside and out. I did not think the appetisers was worth it - it was served without us ordering and automatically charged which is so wrong. RM6 for the pathetic rice crackers and 5 sour tomatoes and they did not taste great. Hainanese chicken was a letdown too - two pieces of deep fried chicken and that's it. Overhyped Malaysian-inspired sushis are beautiful, but did not think it was worth it. But you've got to try at least once...

I particularly loved the fact that the staff was very attentive towards my 3 yo daughter, making sure her seat was comfortable, furnishing her with children's cutlery and warm water even before we asked for it, even gave complimentary juice. Special thanks to Angel, and manager Fazlee Yunus for complimentary (also) birthday dessert and music for my mom's birthday. Staff and service on point. Keep up the good work. Food is as exciting as the ambience. Highly recommended 👍
