People to Johor Bahru, the administrative centre of the southern most condition of Johore inside Malaysia, will see Tan Ki a distinctive destination. The specialty can be "yong tau fu" that is bits of tofu or veggies such as ladies fingertips and chillies filled with seafood pasteand simmered, offered in a tasty fish stock. Additionally, there are fish balls, meats balls, cuttlefish, prawns, chunks of fish along with other seafood. And veggies. Another section presents fried bits of tofu filled with meat, fish roe, seafood cake, minced meats rolled in tofu epidermis. The restaurant is really a down-marketplace place so don't appear too closely at the ground. The tables are clear enough and all of the meals is certainly either boiled or strong fried, so can be quite safe. You select the pieces you need with tongs right into a bowl plus they are prepared behind the counter and offered at your table. You can even order basic rice or noodles to opt for your choices. Help you to ultimately the sweet sauce, natural garlic pieces (tasty!) and chillie paste (exceptional). Cutlery reaches the tables. The restaurant offers additional cooked dishes such as for example fried noodles and fried rice, however the stuffed tofu is crucial -- it is superior to that in your community, say in Singapore or other areas of Malaysia or in Thailand. The seafood paste found in th stuffing will be from a nearby mackeral known as "ikan parang" and images of the seafood decorate the walls. The price depends upon everything you choose. We have there been for lunch time and chose about 15 boiled parts and about 6 fried pieces, including more costly items such as seafood roe and pork slices. Our meal price about US$11. Go right now there for the meals, not the ambience, even though some could find it rather quaint.

This is a small company with plenty of local flavour, outdoor eating in the tropical malaysian weather, will depart you sweating following a plate of freshly cook soup or laksa. Choose your personal ingredients to go with the soup, from veggies to fishballs tochilli in order to fish to meats balls. Very interesting concept.

Nothing really special however the noodles (you mian) is pretty nice to opt for the yong tau foo. The purchase price is quite steep if in comparison to Ah Koong fishball more up the street.
