I actually happened in on the area thinking that a glass of Chai will be a nice deal with. It wasn't on the menus, but the fruit juice I ordered had been wonderful and the artwork on the wall space was colourful and fanciful. It had been a nice location tohang out and compose for a little. I furthermore bought a couple of copies of the Penang Colouring Publication, that is a great present and meditative exercise for re-integrating to function life following a terrific visit to Penang. I must say that my very first initial impact was the odor of cat urine, thus much in order that I nearly turned close to and left. The caterwauling cat argument that ensued in the courtyard soon after I sat down reinforced that impact. The smell faded when i hung out for some time. Maybe I'm quite odor-sensitive, but the impact was that the area requires a good cleaning. It is a great asset to the arts community therefore i hope she can continue steadily to prosper.

Chai Diam Ma Cafe can be another place where one can chit communicating with your buddy. A cafe that without Air-conditional and WIFI barely retain their customer. Foods flavor was averagely accepted.

Hidden and interesting location to purchase nearby hipsters and couchsurfers meetings. There exists a lot of art parts inside, mostly regional so you can purchase something for you personally.

This little cafe and memorial is a lovely spot to sit and unwind following a day of walking in Penang. Good espresso and food, staff are usually welcoming and the area is filled up with excellent local artwork and design work that's not "touristy". I lovethis location and it has been one of the best cafes during my stay static in Penang.

I came to find out about this artwork cafe by way of a friend (whom We haven't met!) in Couchsurfing. The dog owner (Queen...of which can be the title of the road AND the lovely hostel just next door I are actually residing in) was once akindergarten art teacher, in order that alone lends to the sense of the area : ernest, quirky, wholesome. The building itself is approximately 200 yrs . old, and the dog owner appreciates it to the extent of maintaining the shape and unique paint of the constructing. The craft, art, songs, talks held you can find like everything else inside it : one-of-a-type. Rustic tidbits of surprises such as a wok as a washbasin, first 'indie' experience paintings, handmade trinkets on the market, brick-a-brack of home furniture that all go jointly in a believe that appears out of location but right set up. I myself got a blended media workshop with an area Penangite with Indian roots, which alone is worth another story itself. I mainly ordered cold drinks since it was scorching that day (amazing lemon tea!). They perform have desserts and various meals but I was as well centered on crafting that I didn't have the opportunity to try them. The area can be really kids-friendly, plus they are welcomed by Queen to pull and paint. Would return back and order a glass or two and dessert while I sketch/paint. It's among those locations you are pleased to know that it is present, some invest this often mainstream planet :)
