Craving for Mexican food, me and my crew (that sounded cooler in my head) went to Frontera in Palm Square after a tiring but oh so fun night at Jump Street. I ordered their Mushroom & Cheese Enchiladas with Frontera Fries and Mashed Potato, my friends also ordered a variety of Taco, Enchilada, Chimichanga. Their food is really flavorful, I love mushroom and cheese so I definitely made the right decision ordering it. Such a big plate and it looked so good as well, which basically meant that even before I finished I was so full already. According to my friends their food was delicious as well. They also have wifi and a nicely themed ambience. Frontera is a great place to hangout, drink beer and eat with your friends. Adios! (Again, sounder cooler in my head)

My first Mexican cuisine treat by a friend! Never thought it is something wonderful to try! I can taste spices inside of my burrito and rice! Their portion is look like I wanted to order more but trust me, I cannot finish my rice! I just only able to eat burrito! beef meat is soo delicious! Haha! I would definitely want to try for their best menu on second visit. Price is above average. Well, Mexican is my new favorite cuisine! 😘

So, I was stoked when an acquaintance told me about this particular Mexican restaurant located somewhere around PJ area. I almost made it a mission to go there that-very-instance! Theeheehee! Im a big fan of Mexican food! As usual, we picked a weekday to check out the place simply to avoid the unnecessary crowd and traffic. It was slightly after lunch rush hour. So it was perfect timing (for us!). The restaurant only had 2-3 tables occupied. We choose to sit outside on the patio. Love how they adapted the "open floor" concept which allows more natural light and makes it more airy. The interior itself has a good depiction of how a Mexican restaurant should be.As for the menu: Its awesome how they have this lunch special deal going on. Pick a set and you'll get a soup as starter, the main dish and free refills for either soda or iced lemon tea. I had their Fish taco, the other two person had Lamb Enchiladas and Chicken Enchiladas. Let me start off with their Chicken Tortilla soup. It was A-mazing!!! Honestly I was thinking of having another bowl! It was THAT amazing! The amount of cheese they put in, the tortilla chips, the soup itself... Wunderbar!! Then the main dish came. Mine looked decent. Obviously its nothing like the authentic Fish Taco i had in San Diego by the beach that was battered and fry-to-order, hence Im giving this the benefit of the doubts. It took me on my second bite to taste the fish as the first bite was nothing but the thick oily batter. Its was wayyy too oily for my liking. Above all, it took me sometime to figure out what kind of rice that came with my fish taco. Later when I asked the server bout the rice, she said its not "Mexican Rice" per se, it was rice that was mixed with butter and black beans. Now was it hard to stick to the good old Lime and Cilantro rice :( Over all, for my dish I would rate it 2.5... can't go any  further than that. As for the Lamb and Chicken Enchiladas, presentation wise, maybe they can use a smaller plate if they were to serve only one enchiladas coz if not it would look so sad: one medium size enchiladas swimming in a huge plate, on a bed of red sauce that came from the side of pinto beans. Taste wise, they could have done better in terms of the spices. It needed more flavour to it. BUT one thing that is very commendable is their Tortilla chips, they dont use doritos (like most Mexican-food-inspired-foodtrucks do!!), not some store bought chips but the real tortilla chips!!!! Thank you for taking that extra mile for keeping it real! The dip however ..................... was somewhat disappointing. We had fresh guac as the dip. The texture was kinda weird, its hard to explain. If you ever had the authentic guacamole, you'd know what im talking about. In terms of taste, it was lack of lime, onion and didn't see any cilantro innit. We finished up the chips but not the rm24.95 guacamole dip though. Service wise: Servers were ok. Not as prompt as they should be considering there were only 3 tables that was occupied (4 including ours) at the time. Had to call them few times or catch their attention (instead of the other way round)  every time we needed something. I believe they have room for improvements and would patronage their restaurant again in the future.

Frontera looked like a nice Mexican place to eat at after an hour at the Jump Street. The food was OK - nothing great. The best thing we ate was the chicken taco. The fish taco, beef taco, beef enchiladas, were all average. We also ordered the Mechilada, which was quite disappointing - they put too much tomato juice in it.

The Chicken Tacos are amazing. The place serves a good selection of Mexican food. Located in Jaya One this place gives you a break from all the other eateries around. The ambience is good, however was not impressed by the service as it was pretty slow. Overall I will surely go back for the food.
