We usually arrive here for supper when in Malacca. Aside from the nice porridges ( several versions), this restaurants acts excellent dishes like fish, veggies, chicken,etc. This is a simple, zero frills old-shophouse setting eating place helping Chinese 'Zhe Char' design dishes. Highly popular. Come earlier(before 6pm for supper) if one usually do not desire to wait miss food or perhaps a table ( place isn't big). In fact, the name Porridge House is quite misleading. Yes, they perform assist nice porridges but that is only area of the menu. This cafe is even more of a Zhe Char eating place.

Delicious and home prepared style dishes. Taste great with very friendly personnel, think it's family-run cafe. Porridge in claypot didn't have solid msg aftertaste. Atmosphere will be comfortable.

The Porridge here for certain not only for the unwell person. It is so excellent and constantly my must comeback eating place when in Melaka. Ordered few dishes therefore mince pork vege along with toufu, braised pork knuckles inside sweet sour vinegar, strong fried pork nuggetwith fermented toufu, shrimp omelets plus some veg. Each of them taste so delicious. Always pre-book desk for big crowd in order to avoid long wait.

Found this small gem on the path to the laundromat. It had been after 10pm and completely packed, therefore we figured it will be great. Ordered a plate of poultry porridge and a preserved egg and pork porridge. The chicken porridge contained wonderful shredded breast meat,and came topped with the all essential slick of oily fried onions and fresh spring onion/chive. The share was deeply poultry flavoured, and designed for an excellent light meal. The preserved egg and pork porridge was heavenly. The egg was held large (so my much less adventurous husband could choose it out), however the pork mince had been nice and small so that it was within every bite. That one was wealthy and satisfying, but flawlessly balanced, with exactly the same springtime onions, chive, fried onion and shredded ginger. The egg has been good quality, and didn't have a solid ammonia odor, but was rather clear and pleasant. The staff are wonderful, service prompt and friendly, and we were even offered advice about ordering. I'll definitely be returning for another plate of congee here. One suggestion- order the tiny bowl- they're still HUGE.

Noticed the signboard Porridge Home and thought it had been a porridge outlet and produced our way right now there for breakfast. It had been closed each day. We went once again in the night also it has been crowded with locals and noticed many stir fry meals and notas I believed a Porridge House. We'd two pots of porridge, mix fry beef and vinegar pig trotter. Over-all the laundry were average, part was generous and services was fast. I really like the porrige, these were above average. Reminder - not really entirely a porridge store, somewhat misleading signboard.
