We were craving for a few authentic Nyonya meals and imagine our disappointment by the end of the meal! We didn't enjoy the foods at all - bland, tasteless, not flavourful. It sort of place us off attempting to have any longer Nyonya food throughoutour vacation, because of the terrible food right here.

We saw this eating place on a travel present and decided to test it out for. The cafe belongs to superstar chef Kenny Chan (who evidently played the nyonya(!) personality in the longest-working Malaysian Television sitcom, Baba & Nyonya) therefore there exists a cardboard lower outof him outdoors this restaurant. We don't state to be professionals in Peranakan foods but we found the meals tasty and make of top quality. The fried seafood came was a complete fish (instead of fish fillets) also it had a great stability of sour and spicy and has been cooked just right. Another recommended dish will be the Sambal Udang Petai (Prawns with Petai beans). For dessert, we'd the nyonya chendol. This is a tad too lovely for us, however the "bitterness" of the dark brown sugar was quite wonderful.

We visited here because i found the chef was about masterchef indonesia, therefore i wanna try the meals. And it is tasty, me and my hubby order chilli fried seafood and sambal bendih (woman finger). Both are tasty, we think it’s great. And we purchase icecincau for drinks, additionally it is good, never to sweet and refreshing. The restaurant isn't to big, however they have 2nd floor. The staff was helpful furthermore, she (i forgot to request her title) explained the "bendih" if you ask me patiently. :) I would want to eat here once again easily go to melaka later on.

All I could say is.......go now there and check it out for yourself!! I loved it. Foods was excellent and portions were huge. Service was fantastic despite the fact that I could note that they were loaded. The waitress made effort and time to explain the laundry and recommendations. The dog owner Kenny was there and he was extremely humble. Will certainly go there again. Tip : talk with the server, get suggestions and a knowledge of the meals. Everyone includes a different palette, therefore not absolutely all dishes may fit you.

My wife, a pal and We visited this location for lunch recently. We'd heard about this cafe from friends and in addition seen a Television show where an Australian chef acquired visited this eating place to speak to the chef at Huge Nonya. The chef atthis cafe is half of a fantastic comedy act that has been hugeley well-known in Malaysia. Our experience, however, was a large disappointment. The area was empty whenever we walked in and all of the three dishes that people ordered were a disappointed............in presentation and flavor. We know what things to anticipate from Nonya meals but this was an unhealthy version of what might have been a great experience.
