Cocopuri can be found opposite a 24-hour McDonald's Drive-Thru in MetroCity, Jalan Matang. It's around ten minutes drive from the old city centre, in regards to a kilometre up from the Sunday Market (Medan Niaga Satok). MetroCity is really a huge commercial district with a huge selection of newly completed shops,a lively night market and a lot of F&B options. Delicious coconut cream based ice cream. Really worth the visit although saved in a slightly discrete location. Try the gula apong (palm sugar) ice cream (pictured). Yummm.

Cocopuri isn't your typical ice cream shop. It occupies one shop lot on the floor floor of The Emporium (by 20.08.18). It has moved from its previous location. They specialise to make ice cream using coconut milk rather than cream, therefore the icecream is dairy free. Even their waffles are dairy free! They will have interesting local flavours like gula apung, black sesame and lychee. It is possible to choose between an individual scoop, a double scoop or perhaps a triple scoop. We were told however that the scoop is a lot larger for the single scoop option compared to the other options, because the double and triple option is principally for individuals who want variety. A number of the toppings they offered were candy floss topping, toasted coconut flakes or kerisik. The shop is nicely decorated and looks very chic. Only thing is music was a tad too loud, so not too optimum for holding conversation. Our only grievance is that the waffles weren't crispy, perhaps because of it being dairy free. We'd still go for the original waffles.

Cocopuri has moved, from the rather inaccessible location to the Emporium block of shops, that is off the primary road leading from Kuching airport to city centre (Jalan Tun Jugah). The brand new unit looks suitably elegant (posh), while retaining it's simplicity. Whenever we arrived, therewas a particular on, which was a variety of red beans, cendol, gula melaka and ice-cream. Being greedy, that has been the choice for me personally, but it ended up being excessively sweet, that was a pity. The next time, choose the ice cream alone.
