*Hidden Bar Spoiler Alert*Look for a vintage toy shop and a PS150 cardboard signage, this is not a speakeasy but more of a hidden bar so they say. Even after reading so much online I was still amazed by how long the space was. Before entering the main bar area, we were greeted with an intimate couple space lined with slender thin arm chairs and long curtain beads for added privacy. And an open roof area suitable for groups with Asian beer bottles doubling as lights, Merchant Lane can be seen above.Bar was air conditioned, essential in this part of the world, dim lighting and very comfortable seats suitable for both groups and couples. We sat at the area overlooking the bar and I like how they have small little armchairs which are much more comfortable than non back rest chesterfield cushion. School exercise book menu added a nice touch of nostalgia, pages were wrinkled enough to pass the dog ate my homework excuse. (Not sure how they did this). The creative team at PS150 also update their menu every 3 months. I wanted something whisky based and eager to drink a cocktail with gula melaka, went for the Babu-Xander. This is a delicious cocktail served in a martini glass, the cough syrup like Canadian whisky compliments with the sweetness of the gula melaka and chocolate bitters well. Felt the full strength of the drink towards the end. We also imbibed the Penicillin ASEAN edition that came in a whisky glass, a very refreshing cocktail that tasted like kumguat drink at hawker stalls but with a nice punch of liquor. We both thought that the base would be either gin or rum but it turns out to be Irish whisky. Toilet is worth a visit not just for nature calls but to finally use a toilet with zink doors without holding my breath because this is a sanitized version of the real deal after all. Bill came up to RM80, very well priced considering our whole experience. Greatly appreciate businesses such as PS150 for making historical once forgotten buildings relevant again by running sustainable businesses and taking us on a journey back in time.

PS150 is not new - they've been around for more than a year now? It's located at Petaling Street KL which is very near Chinatown itself, so it's a brilliant idea to use it as their theme. Some old umbrellas hanging along the hallway. Felt like I've been teleported to some old bar in Shanghai. The bar is divided to 3 different sections with 2 entrances. We went in through the front entrance - the first room is basically an air-conditioned lane, with 3-4 tables for couples, just like the table in this picture. Second room, it's an outdoor situation and it's really hot - but it's the best place for smokers. Third, and also the main room (see first picture) where the main bar is there, with a few tables. If you're making a reservation, do ask for something at the main room.

The cocktails are very tasty here. The flavour spirits are great. The pink grapefruit gin was excellent. The house vodka was very reasonable priced at just 20RM

Tbh, this is my favourite speakeasy. I love the cocktails there, and the ambience is very chill.Be warned. Unless you have a reservation, prepare to wait in line just to get in.
