Fairly quiet family Chinese restaurant. Halal. Gets company from tour businesses but is normally conducive for quiet family members dinners around a normal Malaysian Chinese restaurant menus. Kids could have fun considering the live life seafood in tanks. Plenty of space to perform around as therestaurant will be area of the Straits Look at Hotel. Affordability if you appear at menu choice, quality of foods and service, and cost.

Been eating here for a long time, when it had been previously referred to as "Jaws" and "Straits View". This is among the default restaurants for the family functions-birthdays, anniversaries, etc. It is also halal, producing it possible for lunches with the employees. I've been surprised atthe amount of Indian dining places in TA's set of Top Ten dining places in JB. The Grand Gem, for just one, definitely doesn't deserve to end up being there. Where will be the Chinese restaurants, I used to wonder. In the end, JB is probably greatest understand for it's Malaysian-Chinese seafood cuisine. My theories? Indian dining places are usually frequented by English talking folks who have enough time, and definitely inclination, to create a review. Plus they are likely to err privately of caution. Chinese restaurants are frequented by individuals who are probably not amply trained in English, are most likely cynical, and have virtually no time to write an assessment. Contact me a bigot after that. Anyway, which means that a lot of lovely Chinese seafood dining places are overlooked. Or simply, that's the concept. To prevent escalating costs and dropping standards... Anyway, this eating place has big seating areas which are usually thoroughly clean and comfortable. It acts very good Chinese seafood meals, with a good collection of alcoholic beverages. We especially enjoy their roast poultry and prawn dishes. There is also enough vegetarian meals to help keep our "vege" family happy. It has, nevertheless, become expensive. Lately, the restaurant has began catering to huge tour groups, but which has not really ruined our dining knowledge so far. Staff, a lot of whom speak great English, are usually friendly and ready to help patrons make options from the menu. Highly recommended.

Proceeded to go there with my children of 4 and ordered 1 dark pepper crab. However the waiter informed us you need to purchase 2 crabs and cant order 1. Therefore we purchased 2. While waiting around, the waitress didn't realize English nor Malay. we hada hard period ordering our drinks. Location was nice and peaceful. We lost our disposition once the crabs were offered. it was dry dark pepper crab and contains plenty of crab's eggs. the flavor was not that great and must say probably the most horrible tasting crabs that people have ever endured. and the cost for just two 2 miserable crabs layer us rm 320!! won't come here agaim...

This restaurant 's been around for ages. I recall coming right here as a kid and that in accordance with my dad who has longer departed, the cafe was visited by several high ranking officials like the chief minister and Sultan of Johor in its hey times.Almost certainly it is because there have been no 5 star resorts in JB 50 years back. Today, the resort and the eating place is quite different and even though the design of the restuarant and resort remains fairly comparable, the furnishing and the providers they provided are usually rather different. Today, rather than meals of all sort of Western and regional cuisine, this restaurant presents seafood and Chinese meals. Generally, the meals served are very tasty and nice. The support here's good and the group here (unlike nearly all Chinese restaurant) had not been so overpowering that it became difficult for us to get a descent discussion over dinner. I've dined in lots of Chinese restaurants which restaurant rates great and the surroundings was pretty cool. With regards to pricing, I've not ordered crab and for that reason I cannot touch upon this, but also for fish, calamari, venison, big prawns etc. it had been not bad. It isn't cheap, but inexpensive and I'd rate it to be moderate in comparison with most Chinese cafe of its class. Conclusion? This restaurant will probably be worth going to whilst you come in town. It isn't fancy and the meals is not good; however the pricing is Alright, but not the cheapest.

Proceeded to go there for a marriage dinner and the meals was ok but nothing at all special as a number of the food had not been fresh. The view on the Straits while eating is interesting.

It looks to become a popular place. The meals here was absolutely tasty. It is generally a seafood restaurant because the name suggests. The meals here's not purely Malayan. There's some fusion meals of the south east cuisine. The service is good, thewaiters are friendly. There's ample space for airport parking.
