Lamian- like served across the majority of China- is generally called Lanzhou Lamian and even comes from the much west and typically served by Islamic cooks with beef and the slightly spicy broth. Something special from heaven. This restaurant supplies a wide range of lamian- Beijing,Shanghai, pork chop, Sichuan, etc; however, not the Lanzhou Lamian that each city and nearly every city in China presents. I have already been to dozens (maybe hundreds) of lamian stores across China and the number is fairly consistent, but completely different to the restaurant's. But tradition may also be superior, let's try some. We had a couple of lamian and weren't quite impressed. The lamian (pulled noodles) were nice good enough but the sauces switched us off... my poultry and pepper has been the better of both dishes but too heavy and overpowering. My eating companion (born and elevated in China) experienced the zhajiangmian also it was too lovely sufficient reason for tomato sauce. Maybe typical of a mall- they ask you for for nibblies, wet towels, etc too. Let's keep looking...
