A pleasant cafe and in addition an "old name" between the locals and out there of towners. Servings are usually generous... we'd 6 dishes for 6 adults and actually couldn't finish! Somewhat in the salty aspect for the family (we have a tendency to eat much less sodium in ourhome cooking food). The best may be the soy pan fry huge "large head" prawns. Although these were generous with the salted eggs in the salted egg fit dish... but I favor the KL design with curry leaves.

Had two extremely enjoyable meals within Dec 2016 and September 2017. The tofu with squid, pork knuckle prepared in bread, and large head shrimp had been all excellent. Definitely a must go to whenever I'm in Ipoh.

Had the satisfaction of celebrating a dear friend’s birthday celebration today here. The meals served were great to excellent. On the list of recommended ones will be the Steamed Pak Therefore Gong (catfish) ; LARGE HEAD Freshwater Prawn steamed with garlic and diced ginger; Crab meats in lettuceala popiah design. Employees were attentive and pleasant. The deco probably requires a new look.

Back for another supper. Had the large freshwater prawns fried with soy sauce, crab soup, steamed tiger grouper, stewed pork leg, mix fried beans and mix fried bean threads. All ready properly. The prawns were exceptional cooked perfectly. No new meals to try.

Usually have a few dinners here within my annual stop by at Ipoh. Properly known because of their big fresh drinking water shrimp. First supper the shrimp had been fried with soy sauce but a little overcooked. Second dinner, these were steamed and prepared right. Furthermore had roastpiglet both periods and the next time was much better with crispier skin. Most likely the first supper was too near CNY and the eating place was very occupied. The steamed huge grouper was done nicely. Also got the spicy pork ribs prepared in a loaf.

This restaurant came strongly suggested for supper. Went with someone else but you actually need at least 4 individuals I reckon to understand this place. The larger the crowd the higher for variety. Very pleasant and attentive employees. The lady taking right out purchase was greatas she suggested us against ordering even more. Verdict: the well-known prawn dish - individually found it as well oily and meh. We furthermore experienced the shark fin crab soup minus the shark fin (for ethical factors) as well as the shark fin crab egg fry with lettuce cups (again minus the shark fin - you need to request if you don't need shark fin). Both had been very yum and was instead nostalgic of what straits Chinese utilized eat when they visit a traditional loved ones Chinese restaurant. Wished to order the dark bean paste pancake however the woman said it will come in an enormous serving. We inquired for the English menus but don’t purchase anything as a result. Ask them for his or her most popular dishes, because they English menu appeared to be composed for what they believe foreign vacationers prefer. I reckon I'd have rated this make sure you higher if I may have purchased a broader selection of meals but alas only us. Go with a big group when you can.

Dropped by this eating place on my in the past from Ipoh in order to Kuala Lumpur for lunch time along with family. Felt that the meals was pretty typical at best and nothing at all really stood out. Furthermore felt that the meals has been overprice for the common food that people gotlunch. Definitely wouldn't get back to this cafe in the future

Another of my CNY visit to Ipoh and supper at Mun Choong. Acquired the freshwater prawns both methods. Mind was steamed and entire body has been fried with soy sauce. Excellent as normal nevertheless, you have to purchase in advance because the wild prawns come in requirement. The big grouper was steamed best rather than overcooked. The pork leg/knuckle had been tender and had an excellent taste. The greens were okay. The stirred fried bean threads got 'wok hay' and flavorful. Furthermore acquired the yeong tau fu; just ok
