Traditional & genuine Teochew porridge. The final time I ate right here was twenty years ago. Same aged, same old. Prices had opted up significantly and all of the dishes is fewer right now. This cafe has seen better times.

Hung Wang (漢元) Teochew porridge eating place.From afar this cafe (2 shop lots room) looks like a normal old Chinese asssociation creating. Never mind, simply don't skip the groundfloor eatery center serving authentic, tasty Teochew porridge and its own assortment of wonderful meals. The white basic porridge is prepared to perfection. Correct thickness, right starchy really feel and smoothness. Attempt the accompanying meals: braised duck meats and its own entrails, fried or steamed seafood, tofu range, braised egg or omelette, beans, vegetables, etc. The majority are prepared until pleasantly smooth and an easy task to digest. After all, your appetitite will develop as you consume the Teochew design meal, especially dipping foods in the unique sourish nice bean paste sauce as flavouring.The setting of the restaurant is plain simple and traditional sort of look. Not really air-cond., but it will be airy and comfortable.

Variety of meals and several vegetables which is ideal for a vegetarian such as me. They will have eggs and seafood as protein options. It is possible to pick trip or porridge as a carb. I pointed from what I needed and the personnel put each part dish on a plate (choice between little and large), then taken to my desk. I chose 4 little dishes (vegetables, eggplant, noodles+cabbage, scrambled egg) and a little rice, and also a coke-arrived out to 11.20rm with each small plate coming in at 2rm. It was much for all of the dishes, fast and pleasant service, and thoroughly clean/spacious/well-ventilated eating place. English friendly aswell.

There are numerous teochew porridge shops/ restaurants in the town but hardly any are authentic Teochew porridge. That is one of the hardly any authentic Teochew porridge stores/restaurants in the town. Price reasonable and menus yummy.

I love this place because of their good food. Exactly like homemade dishes. Basic and very tasteful. You could have porridge or rice. Cost very reasonable.
