We dropped directly into urban brew for lunch time with hot exhausted children. The assorted menu made everybody joyful; food came rapidly and service was great. A decent option if you prefer a moment within an air conditioned room to recover.

Nice, cozy atmosphere with choices of both local foods (char kuay Teow, laksa) and western food choices (burgers, spaghetti). Ideal for groups that are split on what they need (local versus western) and those who would like to try some nearby food but switched off bylocal coffee shops. That said, the char kuay teow and laksa aren't quite as effective as the famous stalls, but it is a trade off based on what you are seeking. For instance, they used spaghetti because the noodles in the laksa.

Friendly staff, wonderful air-conditioning and ambience. Coffee a bit more expensive than other people but it will come in the mug (bigger part) and it's really good espresso. The pineapple fruit juice was too watery. Will come back the next time to attempt the food here.

We was invited to Urban Spice Cafe within my short stop by at Penang in November. The cafe can be greater than a cafe. It is filled with surprises which I wouldn't normally expect such tasty western dishes are available in Penang. I attempted several dishesand has been delighted by how flavorful each dish had been. The mango salad has been really refreshing. Oxtail stew was included with clean and buttery mashed potatoes, and the oxtail simply melted in the mouth area. The gravy had hook touch of warm spicy which produced the complete dish so distinctive. The duck confit should be consumed right aside when it's served to take pleasure from its juiciness and tenderness. The menu not merely includes western cooking, in addition, it has some well-known Penange hawker meals. Among which I attempted the char koay teow and mee goreng. Both of these noodle dishes seem an easy task to fry, but not therefore. The flame should be properly controlled in order to avoid burning up. The substances and sauces used should be at the proper proportion. Urban Spice could cook these two meals to perfection. The dessert had been crepes with bananas and vanilla ice lotion. Simple and delicious however, not over lovely. I was informed the coffee was excellent. I did not really try because I will not have the ability to sleep once I beverage coffee after 2pm. The dishes will be the creation of Chef Bernice. Before signing up for Urban Spice Cafe she has been a chef in The Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda. She was motivated by her grandmother and her mom's nyonya design cooking at a age group. Coupled with her very own interest for cooking food, she attended cooking school to help expand elevate her abilities and creativity. The staff members in Urban Spice Cafe were courteous and friendly. The cafe is situated in a residential region at Tanjung Bungah. It includes a extremely relax and comfy setting. Clear, cozy and spacious. It really is decorated with an accumulation of artwork from regional artists and something of the cafe proprietors, depicting the moments and heritage of Penang. Ample parking space are available around the cafe. You can also bring your personal wine for a particular occasion! Penang is famous of hawker foods. Nevertheless, Urban Spice Cafe supplies a different viewpoint for eating in Penang. It's western dining with a distinctive hint of Asian taste. It's a concealed gem and is really a must-try restaurant if you are in town.

This is a recent addition to the Tanjung Bungah area where cafés and bistrots are sprouting daily with blended results. Urban Spice is really a welcome addition: the inside decoration is easy, unpretentious with some contemporary style in its lighting no frilltables and chair. Prints of photos and water colours hold on the walls. Altogether a nice environment more underlined by the friendly employees. The menu isn't lengthy and features some classic dishes such as for example fish and chips (golden crisp and served with a good tartare sauce), selection of pasta, a variation of the neighborhood laksa (excellent) and either two salads. Main programs consist of confit of duck, lamb shanks, mutton stew, beef steaks and salmon. For dessert we'd a tasty pavlova and small pancakes with ice lotion, equally good. We proceeded to go with a few friends and individuals were extremely pleased with their dinner. No corkage and charges for main classes were between an acceptable RM33 and 40, provided the standard of the fare. We desire this new eatery best wishes.

On a cold, wet winters day we had lunch time at Montsalvat. Regardless of the weather the eating place had been abuzz with diners and I understand why. Seating was limited to indoors because of the weather. The menu supplies a choice of lighting and heaviermeals, I had Slow Cooked Lamb Ragoit and my partner the Pumpkin and Glowing blue Cheese Ragout, both tasty. Services was prompt and helpful. We cannot fault this cafe, a fireplace will be great, though diners wouldn't normally want to leave.
