Opulent surroundings with seating about balcony overlooking sea. Plentiful hot and cool buffet whilst gratis cocktails, wine and beers flowed freely from 5-7 (I believe those were the hours). An excellent place for sundowners in this lovely resort.

Very large lounge inside the E&O hotel. Great waterfront and swimming pool side views. They have seating for approximately 8 people in the rear of the outdoor in order to like a cigar with a cocktail. It’s very little but it was ideal for thatevening. Plenty of space...you don't need to take into account intruding on other visitors. You should bring your personal cigars. None on the market. Great staff. Very helpful.

Yes we enjoyed our Sunday roast there is so much to pick from and the roasts were thickly sliced and tender, but one negative, foods was raised perhaps too early so by enough time we thought we would eat most was a little on thecool part! We noticed the Yorkshire puddings getting raised around 11.45 and shown under lights that i presume was to help keep them warm, nonetheless it didn't take place and was disappointed, these were almost chilly. Roasts were excellent, but a the choice although plentiful and an excellent selection was again great as had been the gravy, sort of spoilt it a little for me personally. Can't fault the meals just the temp. I understand it must end up being very hard right now with the Heritage aspect being renovated therefore everything occurs in the Planters Lounge from early morning breakfasts (the primary dining room downstairs continues to be completely swing though) to lunches to afternoon teas, beverages hour and happy hr, then to evening foods, it must result in a great headaches and under the situations they are performing a great job, but ideally when all provides settled and Heritage will be back again to its glorious 'Aged Dame' the Sunday Roasts will stay hot through the entire luncheon? However, no issue what, we like the Electronic & O and remain for a while every year, can't wait around to start to see the Heritage once again in every its former beauty. Also needs to mention a big many thanks for anyone that proceeded to go out of their solution to make our remain an excellent one even under challenging circumstances. Smiles at all times, nothing was an excessive amount of trouble, we just think it’s great there.... Just wish occasionally the Penang weather will be a wee bit cooler - climate cooler, roast lunches hotter!

Twenty-three years back I had planned to remain at the E&O nonetheless it had been closed for renovations. This season I partially attained that long position ambition and visited the Electronic&O for drinks within their upstairs Planters Bar close to the swimming pool with sights across thestraits. I aimed for before sunset and, because the sky darkened to a strong glowing blue, we reclined in the cane wicker chair and drank our beverages (a Singapore Sling, Cosmopolitan and lime-juice for approximately 95RM) by candle-lit tables. I came across it magical and really worth the wait. Staff provided good services but didn’t hover. Despite just coming for beverages, I didn’t experience unwelcome. It wasn’t occupied either. I'm not a connoisseur therefore i really can’t touch upon the cocktails but I enjoyed them. From then on we toddled off later on to a Hawker Center for Dim Sum / Yum Cha that was probably half the purchase price and was another kind of magic. My ambition the next time will be to have meals at the Electronic&O. Ideally that won’t end up being another twenty-three years from today.

Despite the remaining hotel being excellent, this is the one location where things were a bit amiss. The place was ideal for breakfast and the main one time we had supper there. We did attempt the Sunday lunch, however the one main flawabout the complete place was the intensive air conditioning. It had been too cold. Enough time we ate supper we'd to ask to sit down outside as it has been freezing inside. Using one event at breakfast I got to go and obtain a fleece to cover up myself. At Sunday lunch time, the food was superb and the meats tender, but with the fierce air-con it had been cold by enough time we first got it from the buffet to the desk. The main one consolation at that dinner were the wonderful crepes for dessert. Uncertain why the temperature needed to be so cool and despite making our emotions known, absolutely nothing was done about any of it. We also noticed some visitors opting to sit down by the entranceway to the patio region and getting the door open up to get some good heat in. Notwithstanding that the employees were really fine and helpful. We simply wish they had completed something concerning the air conditioning.

We stayed at the Electronic and O Resort in 2016 therefore were delighted to come back this time with loved ones for a higher tea (we were in a cruise with each day stop more than in Penang). The positioning of the Great Tea was wonderful withviews out over the sea. The crockery was wonderful as were the true silver tea strainers and glucose dishes. The savoury higher tea came very first and was excellent with a big variety. You talk about a tiered server between 2 people and there's so much foods. The nice delights (which includes scones and jam and cream) arrived later on and were a report of creative style. The tea was unlimited, extra water poured whenever we requested and we left therefore full up it still left no room for supper! I completely recommend this location at $27 AUD per person. Brilliant value.
