I have not really eaten at Lorong for a long time. But I did so go there with 3 friends lately on a website trail. Continued a Tuesday and prevented the weekend crowds. A lot of great eats. Hawkers had been obliging and restaurant owners were friendly. Got nicelaksa and lor bak. The shock for me was to discover a miku buns store operating alongside the Cheong Kim Chuan (CKC) shop of nutmeg fame. The vivid pink miku buns are employed for festive or celebratory events! It had been a gem of a discover. Second of all, with a CKC wall plug there, one does not have to travel completely to Atmosphere Itam for exactly the same nutmeg stuff!

Located at 84 Lorong Selamat (Low Eng Hoo Cafe now called KTG Cafe) this is actually the Char Koay Teow stall well-known for the goggles man. The other stall may be the woman at 108 Lorong Selamat (Heng Huat Cafe). When I popped by today, he wasnot wearing goggles. His staff explained it had been sent for repair! In the photo the person in orange Tee shirt. Waited around a quarter-hour. The initial dish was without chilli and the next with chilli. Delicious! Have to hit 10,000 steps by end of your day and the fitness center too to cover this. Worth a visit.

The area was very crowded. Once you sit down, you need to at least order a glass or two ( the drink was cheap tho ). I ate the famous seafood char kway teow. I really do think its nice but I must wait around one hour whichI believe that it is not worthwhile. I also ate the oyster omlette alongside the chat kway teow also it tastes nice

The chat kuey teow was once excellent in taste. However, tried it the other day and discover the taste had not been as effective as before. The price can be on the top quality. A bowl of Char kuey teow cost between rm11 and rm13.

Once we explore what our dear penang is offering. This char koay teow that was once sought after, is currently utterly disappointing. It had been tasteless having an overwhelming smell of kerosene as well as expensive. I guess it is time to move on.

Over the years this is usually our very first stop after arriving in Penang for a plate or two of the reddish hat goggle aunty CKT. The store was always busy that was why she could possibly be grumpy at periods however the CKT was delicious. Wentlast week also it was terrible. There's a replacement aunty following the original aunty apparently retired and she brings rudeness to a brand new level. Only wished to cook using gas so when we asked you will want to cook with charcoal for the “wok hei”, she basically asked us never to waste her time. No wonder the shop was practically empty.

Taste typical but expensive. RM 7.50 for the plate with 3 prawns and Chinese sausage. The restaurant drinks are ok however the bread are usually lousy as its very difficult and the kaya are usually tasteless.

At RM11 the plate, I expect this to end up being better than additional char koay teow stalls. But no, this char koay teow is costly, even with 3 huge plumb prawns. Taste-sensible, it's typical. My makan Kakis all concur the flavor is average, and certainly notworth the Rm11 a plate. You can find much better char koay teow stalls in Penang. I believe this auntie is riding on her behalf recent success, and jacking up her cost. The area was crowded, without doubt taken in by some past good reviews. For me, I'll never return back here.

That is 10 MYR per plate so definitely any occasion indulgence. Googleman uses 3 big prawns and an excellent mix that is the tastiest Char Koey Teow I've had in a decade in Malaysia. Also lower in oil so not really sickly - simply tasty! If you want your Koey Toew oily you can travel to the well-known aunty with the reddish colored hat who charges 11 MYR - I believe the excess 1 MYR will be for the quantity of oil used - whenever we went right here it in fact made us feel unwell after the quantity of oil ingested in the dish.
