All of us understand how picky GrabFood Customers can be, right? But Kafe Sarawak nailed it! They were awarded the 'Rated the Best on GrabFood' in October 2022.
Sarawak Cafe is excellent but out of the way. Located at Ampang, a residential area called Taman Putra Sulaiman.
Do 5-star Award with Kafe Sarawak Chef's Eye Shut
When I stepped into Kafe Sarawak, there were already 2 to 3 drivers sitting on the bench, waiting for the food to be delivered. I can imagine how famous this Kafe Sarawak is on GrabFood.
Before I opened their menu, I expected the price probably go up from RM15 to RM25.
Definitely a NO! Even Sarawak Specials Dish with beef costs RM15 only! If you want to add 2 shrimps, you need to pay another RM5, and 5 Oysters are RM 6. The ‘priciest’ meal I can see is a full-set seafood meal, and it is RM29.
Why a simple Mamak restaurant can achieve a 5-Star on GrabFood? I am going to bring you through how good their food was!
Keen on 'Mi' (Noodles)
1. Kolo Mee / Kampua Mee
Everyone knows the traditional food in Sarawak should be Sarawak Kolo Mee. But how to make a bowl of scrumptious Sarawak Mee is another say. As expected, only local chefs can make the local dish!
The noodles they used for Kolo Mee are harder and chewier in a bite. The texture of the noodles is very bouncy, and the minced chicken melts in your mouth.
A big bowl of Chicken Kolo Mee only costs you RM8! That is definitely worth its price!
2. Laksa Sarawak
The ingredient in this Sarawak Laksa is very rich, like shrimps, chicken floss, egg floss, beansprouts (Tauge), and rice noodles.
The most important part of a Laksa should be the soup. In Peninsular Malaysia, the Laksa emphasizes the spiciness of the soup. Yet, Laksa Sarawak puts light on the creaminess and milkiness of the soup.
After trying the soup, the flavor of rich coconut milk and dried shrimp flooded your mouth. It is super friendly to try if you are not a spicy food lover!
A big and full bowl of Sarawak Laksa is only RM10! Feel free to add any seafoods like shrimps or oysters and it is only RM6 at most!
3. 3 Layer Tea
If Sarawak had an iconic dish, it must be Kolo Mee; if Sarawak had a traditional drink, it would be Sarawak 3-Layer Tea! For those who have no concept about what 3-Layer Tea is, 3-Layer Tea has three different layers: brown sugar (gula apong), evaporated milk, and red tea / black Tea.
Turning the page for sweet drinks lovers, the stunning 3-Layer Tea in Kafe Sarawak is sweet, icy, and cools you down on a hot day.
For more health-conscious people, don't worry! 3-Layer Tea in Kafe Sarawak doesn't have any artificial sweeteners or colouring. They are using specialty tea leaves from Sarawak to make a cup of perfect 3-Layer Tea just for you!
